Analyst Report: ALLE
1. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Allegion rose 13.62% over the five sessions to the close on 28 October 2026, from $159.00 to $180.66, and the whole move traces to the third-quarter report published before the open on 22 October, when the shares gained 11.02% on volume of 2,097,500. Adjusted EPS of $2.60 beat the $2.50 consensus, revenue of $1.17bn came in above the roughly $1.14bn expected, and management raised 2026 adjusted EPS guidance to $9.05–$9.10 from $8.85–$9.00. Growth came almost entirely from the Americas, while International organic sales slipped. The shares added a further 2.3% across the following sessions, with a BofA upgrade as reported follow-through. The stock now trades at a 52-week high with a forward P/E of 17.8, close to the five-year average of 18x cited by TIKR before the report, so further gains depend on the Americas strength continuing and on International stabilising.
2. THE CATALYST
Allegion released Q3 2026 results before the open on 22 October (Allegion press release; TIKR). The session closed at $176.52, up 11.02% from $159.00.

Americas non-residential grew at a low-double-digit organic rate. International adjusted margin fell to 13.9%. Tariff refunds added $19.9m to reported operating income, and the company excluded them from adjusted EPS, so TIKR concludes the guidance raise does not rely on tariffs.
BofA Securities (analyst Rafe Jadrosich) upgraded the stock to Buy from Neutral and lifted its target to $200 from $164, citing accelerating Americas organic growth and better visibility into 2027 (Investing.com; Benzinga, both 23 October). The sources conflict on timing: Investing.com's text says "Wednesday" while its timestamp and Benzinga point to 23 October. The date is unconfirmed, and the 22 October jump cannot be attributed to the upgrade. Benzinga also mentions higher targets from other analysts without naming any, which is unverified.
3. COMPANY PROFILE
Allegion plc is an industrials company in security and protection services, reporting through Allegion Americas and Allegion International. It sells door controls and exit devices, doors and door systems, electronic security and access control products, and locks and key systems, along with services and software. Market cap is $15.36bn.
Management attributed the quarter to Americas non-residential demand and "steady momentum in our demand generation engine," and guides to low-double-digit EPS growth for the year, in line with its long-term framework (press release; Investing.com). Working capital held at 7.9% of revenue and gross debt to adjusted EBITDA fell to 1.9x from 2.1x (Investing.com). BigGo Finance reports a roughly $90m acquisition of a door company, named Overly Door Company by BigGo and Overlea Door Company in transcript coverage, so the name is unconfirmed, plus a $40m follow-on investment in Ambient.ai. Allegion also raised its full-year outlook with Q2 results on 23 July (8-K), though the brief does not give the share reaction.
4. DEEP DIVE ANALYSIS
Do fundamentals justify the move? The beat on EPS (4%) and revenue, a 60 basis point year-on-year margin gain and a guidance midpoint above the $8.97 consensus support a re-rating. The raise came from adjusted figures that exclude the tariff refunds. The 11.02% day is large for a company with a 1.23% dividend yield and a steady record, and it reflects the combination of an earnings beat, a guidance raise and an organic growth upgrade.
Valuation. TIKR put the pre-report forward P/E near 17x, versus a five-year average of 18x and a five-year low of 14x in May. The panel shows 17.8 forward after the rally, so the shares remain just below the average, which leaves limited multiple expansion unless estimates keep rising. BofA's EPS estimates of $9.10 (2026), $10.09 (2027) and $10.76 (2028) and its move to a 15.5x 2027 EV/EBITDA multiple from 13.5x show how the upgrade case is built (Investing.com).
Peers. Over the same period, building-products peers diverged: JCI +4.19%, AOS +2.03%, MAS +2.00%, CARR -0.35%, TT -4.87% and LII -9.21%, against the S&P 500 at -0.17%. Allegion's gain is far larger than any peer's, which points to a company-specific catalyst. The brief offers no sourced explanation for the peer dispersion, and TIKR describes the rise as occurring in a weak tape.
Bull case. Americas organic growth of 9.1% with non-residential in low double digits, a raised outlook, deleveraging, and a CFO signal of another pricing action (Benzinga) while inflation stays elevated into next year.
Bear case. International organic sales fell 0.2% with margin down to 13.9%, nearly all growth depends on one region, and the stock sits 17.49% above its level 20 sessions ago after a gap that has already priced in the beat. Inflation that stays elevated raises cost pressure alongside the pricing benefit.
5. TECHNICAL SNAPSHOT
The $180.66 close is the highest in the daily table and sits just under the 52-week high of $182.66 set on 28 October, so no resistance level is available from the table. It stands above the 50-day average of $157.29 and the 200-day average of $149.37, and far above the 52-week low of $124.05. The 22 October gap-up came on roughly 1.9x the 50-session average volume, and the latest session's 1,566,800 shares (1.28x average) show continued participation as the price held in a $176.52 to $180.66 closing range. The nearest support in the table is the $180.55 close on 27 October, with $178.22 below it and the $176.52 post-earnings close beneath that.
6. RISK FACTORS
- International weakness persists, with organic sales down 0.2% and margin at 13.9%.
- The Americas run slows, removing the basis of BofA's improved 2027 visibility.
- Inflation and tariff effects on costs; the tariff refunds are excluded from adjusted EPS, so they provide no recurring support.
- The shares trade at a 52-week high, leaving less room for disappointment.
- Unverified items: the BofA upgrade date, the acquisition name and the unnamed analyst target increases.
- Upcoming: the Q4 report is expected in early 2027 (TIKR). The brief found no confirmed date for it, an investor day or a dividend.
7. ACTIONABLE OUTLOOK
Short term (1-2 weeks): With no scheduled catalyst, the shares are likely to consolidate near the highs. Closes below $176.52 would put the post-earnings gap at risk, while a move through $182.66 would extend the trend. This is inference from the price table.
Medium term (1-3 months): Direction depends on further analyst estimate revisions toward BofA's $9.10 for 2026 and $10.09 for 2027, and on evidence that the pricing action lands. The $200 BofA target sits about 10.7% above the latest close.
Long term: The thesis has strengthened on the Americas, with higher guidance and lower leverage, and the open question is International recovery, which TIKR flags as the item to watch. This is analysis only and not personal financial advice.
